PTBCHA
(4-tert-Butylcyclohexyl Acetate) is a widely used synthetic woody-floral aroma chemical. Its character is sweet, creamy, soft woody and subtly floral, making it useful as a blender/modifier in both fine fragrance and functional fragrance formulations.
Typical commercial PTBCHA contains both cis and trans isomers; one commercial specification gives approximately 28–32% cis and 68–72% trans, with total isomers around 99–100%. Actual specification should be based on the supplier COA.
Fragrance Character
Sweet • Creamy • Woody • Soft Floral • Warm • Clean • Smooth
PTBCHA is especially useful for building soft woody-floral volume and smoothing compositions rather than acting only as a strong top-note material. It is used with ionones, cedarwood materials and floral/non-floral perfume chemicals.

Commercial Formulation Advantage
PTBCHA is a particularly useful cost-effective woody-floral blender/modifier. It can give a composition a smoother, creamier woody body without relying entirely on expensive specialty woody materials.
Typical usage: suppliers report a broad range, from around 0.2% to 20%, depending strongly on the application and desired effect.
